800 acres

International interest

Representatives of more than 20 Japanese companies considering potential international expansion are exploring opportunities to set up shop right here in San Antonio. M&A

San Antonio-based public company NuStar Energy LP (NYSE: NS) announced Monday that it had come to an agreement with Dallas-based fuel distributor Sunoco LP (NYSE: SUN) for the latter to acquire the former. Energy reporter Zoe Gottlieb provides details on the multibillion-dollar deal and explains what it means for stockholders, here.

In Gottlieb's follow-up story, NuStar Energy's CEO says Sunoco will keep up NuStar's lease on its San Antonio headquarters building and won't lay off local staff for at least two years following the acquisition – which is likely to be the biggest deal of its kind in the San Antonio MSA for 2024 in spite of coming in the early months of the year.
