Systems or Goals? In the book Atomic Habits, James Clear poses this question: "if you completely ignored your goals and focused only on your system, would you still succeed? For example, if you were a basketball coach and you ignored your goal to win a championship and focused only on what your team does at practice each day, would you still get results?"
Clear goes on to say that winners and losers have the same goals (i.e. winning the championship), therefore it make a larger impact to prioritize the systems and the process - trusting that the score will take care of itself.
38.5% of US adults make new years resolutions, while 3.5% actually keep them.
Since more than 90% of New Year's resolutions fail, maybe this is the year we try a different approach.
