Astronergy World Tour 2024 in Brazil returned to Brazil on August 26th! It was an incredible event filled with insightful discussions, new connections, and a shared vision for a greener future!

3.??Two All Quality Matters Awards achieved from TüV Rheinland Group!

On September 3rd, Astronergy ASTRO N n-type TOPCon PV modules won the High-voltage PV Module Performance AMQ Award by passing rigorous tests, including impulse voltage test, enhanced PID test, and insulation test. Meanwhile, our ASTRO N5 n-type TOPCon PV modules outperformed in harsh environments like high-salinity, UV, and humid conditions, to obtain the Inshore PV Module Performance AMQ Award.

During the event, Dr. Chuan Lu, Chairman and CEO at Astronergy, shared Astronergy's strategy to tackle current industry challenges. He highlighted that Astronergy achieves robust growth by focusing on the innovation of n-type TOPCon technology and by adopting a differentiation strategy in different solar projects. He also called for stronger industry collaboration to ensure a healthy and competitive market.

These two awards once again prove the exceptional quality of our module products. Astronergy will remain committed to product excellence and to providing our global clients with more reliable PV modules.

4.??Co-marketing event with Electrisa

From August 7th to 9th, Astronergy, in partnership with our valued distributor Electrisa, made a strong impact in Panama!

At the XIII Industrial Symposium on Energy and Water, we connected with over 300 energy professionals through exhibitions and insightful talks. Sebastián Mora, our Key Account Manager Central LATAM, introduced Astronergy's latest module products to the participants and expressed the anticipation to engage with more industry experts to drive the progress of solar technology in the region.

We also hosted a hands-on Course on Installation and Configuration of Photovoltaic Systems for local integrators. Juan Ignacio Ortubia Giménez, our Technical Manager LATAM, shared key insights on optimal installation and maintenance practices for PV modules.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for these events! We look forward to joining hands with more local partners to support the growth of solar energy in Panama and the LATAM region.

5.??Co-marketing event with G5 Solar

We marked our presence at the G5 Solar 2024 Technical Meeting!

During the event, Eduardo Gama Tamburus, Country Manager Brazil at Astronergy, delivered an informative presentation on the current trends and future outlook of the solar energy market in Brazil. He provided valuable insights into how the industry is evolving and the potential it holds for growth and sustainability.

Eduardo also took the opportunity to introduce Astronergy’s n-type TOPCon PV modules, showcasing their high adaptability to different application scenarios.

Thanks to G5 Solar for inviting us to participate in this event and discuss the future of solar energy with industry experts. This marks the successful conclusion of our roadshow events with LATAM distributors in August. Stay tuned for more updates from Astronergy!

6.??Astronergy Project Case: Lanxi 120MW Fishery-Solar Hybrid Project

Another project connected to the grid powered by Astronergy's n-type TOPCon PV modules!

Lanxi Fishery-Solar Hybrid Project, located in Hunan Province, China, is supported by 120MW of ASTRO N5 PV modules. After the operation, this project will generate around 126 million kWh of clean electricity annually and contribute to reducing carbon dioxide by 99,727 each year.

By combining solar power with aquaculture, this project showcases a sustainable and eco-friendly solution that balances energy production with environmental protection. This harmonious integration supports local fishery activities while enhancing land utilization and preserving the ecosystem.

PV market news this week:

1.??Solar module installations could hit 592 GW in 2024

BloombergNEF says the global solar industry will install?592 GW of modules this year, up 33% in 2023. The consultancy has also lowered its estimate for 2024 polysilicon production, as manufacturers are temporarily scaling back output.

2.??QatarEnergy to build 2 GW solar plant

QatarEnergy, a state-owned petroleum company, is set to construct a?2 GW?solar facility in the city of Dukhan, Qatar. Qatari Energy Minister Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, who is also the president and CEO of QatarEnergy, revealed the plans during a press conference this week.

3.??Australia’s Solar Sunshot program to support solar manufacturing

The first AUD 550 million ($372.2 million) of the Australian federal government’s?Solar Sunshot?program has been launched to support the development of the?domestic solar manufacturing industry?and help local businesses capture more of the global PV supply chain.

4.??Fiji launches tender for ground-mounted solar

Energy Fiji?Ltd. has started accepting bids for the development, operation and maintenance of three ground-mounted solar plants in Fiji with a combined capacity of?21.93 MW. The deadline for applications is Oct. 30.

5.??Aquila Clean Energy granted permits for 700MW Spanish solar portfolio

Renewable energy developer?Aquila Clean Energy?has secured construction permits for a 700MW solar PV project portfolio in Spain. The five sites are spread across?three autonomous communities?–?Castilla y León, Andalusia and Castilla-la Mancha?–?and are located near the cities of Palencia, León, Granada, Córdoba, and Toledo.

6.??France deploys 1.05 GW of PV in Q2

France's Ministry of Ecological Transition reports that 1,056 MW of new PV systems were connected to the grid from April to June 2024. In comparison, the country added?1,054 MW?in the first quarter of this year and 812 MW in in the second quarter of 2023.

7.??UK allocates more than 3 GW of solar through CfD auction

Record contracts for difference (CfDs) auction for UK solar results in more than 90 projects securing fixed-price contracts. It follows intervention from the new UK government in summer 2024 to increase the auction budget. Strike prices achieved for all renewables technologies were well below the auction’s ceiling price.

8.??BNDES raises US$200 million for 402MW of new Brazilian solar capacity?

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has raised R$1.14 billion (US$200 million) to support the development of?402MW?of new solar capacity in the states of S?o Paulo and Ceará.

9.??Grenada seeking bids for 15.1 MW of airport solar

Grenada’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission is seeking expressions of interest for?15.1 MW?of solar at Maurice Bishop International Airport. The project may also include a 10.6 MW/21.2 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20.

10.?Argentina raises self-consumption limit under net metering to 12 MW

Eduardo Javier Rodriguez Chirillo, Argentina's secretary of energy, has signed Resolution No. 235/24. The new resolution raises the maximum size limit for self-consumption projects under net metering from?2 MW to 12 MW.

11.?Germany’s Fellensiek files for insolvency

German?PV project developer?Fellensiek Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG has filed for insolvency due to claims from an unnamed investor. However, the company’s 20 project entities remain unaffected, and buyers are being sought for their sale.
