Astronergy news this week:

1.??New Project launched on the Tibetan Plateau

Astronergy is proud to be a key contributor to two groundbreaking projects of the SDIC Power! Located in Shigatse City and Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, these two projects are powered by our ASTRO 5 PV modules, boasting a capacity of 100MW and 50MW respectively.

What sets these projects apart is their unique location on the Tibetan Plateau at an average elevation surpassing 4,500 meters, where the air is thin, and the weather can be extremely cold. The successful delivery showcases the resilience and reliability of our PV modules in these extreme conditions, further solidifying our commitment to quality and performance.

The estimated grid connection date is set for the end of October. Stay tuned for more updates!

Astronergy achieved the world's first IEC 61730:2023 PV Module Certificate from?TüV Rheinland Group?on September 18th!

The newly updated IEC 61730:2023 standard sets higher benchmarks for PV module R&D, manufacturing technology, and product reliability and safety compared to the previous standard, IEC 61730:2016. These standards aim to ensure the quality and performance of PV modules under diverse environmental conditions and operational scenarios.

PV market news this week:

1.??Large-scale PV projects proliferate in Bangladesh

This week, the Bangladesh authorities have been approving or reviewing three more large-scale solar power projects for a total capacity of 300 MW.

2.??Brazil’s solar module imports hit 7.8 GW in H1

Brazil imported 7.8 GW of solar modules in the first half of 2023, with Chinese manufacturers Canadian Solar and JinkoSolar providing 2.4 GW. According to consultancy Greener, this marked a 19% reduction in panel imports from the first six months of 2022.

3.??A new floating PV system is designed in Brazil

A Brazilian consortium is testing a new floating PV system design on a lake in Sao Paulo. The facility is setting standards for the future development of floating arrays in Brazil.

4.??World Bank seeks advisers to assess the feasibility of floating solar in Mexico

The World Bank is accepting expressions of interest to provide consultancy and feasibility study services for floating solar facilities at two hydropower reservoirs operated by Mexico’s National Electricity Commission (CFE).

5.??UK firm to supply argon recycling tech for 2 GW of solar in India

Gas Recovery and Recycle Ltd. (GR2L) has revealed plans to supply its Argon? machinery for 2 GW of solar capacity in India. Its Argon? tech can recycle up to 95% of the argon used to fabricate silicon wafers for solar panels.

6.??Pakistan re-tenders 600 MW solar PV project

The Pakistan authorities have once again tendered a bid to develop 600 MW of solar capacity in Punjab, Pakistan. The government is telling prospective developers they have until October 30th to submit proposals.

7.??European Solar Manufacturing Council urges EU to adopt a law against forced labor in the PV industry

The European Solar Manufacturing Council (ESMC) is urging the European Union to adopt legislation against forced labor in the PV industry, by explicitly calling for measures to prevent solar products produced with forced labor from entering the European market.

8.??South Africa streamlines 203 MW of wind-solar-storage hybrid projects

At the end of August, the South African Department of Energy (DoE) signed project agreements for two hybrid wind-solar facilities. The installations will feature battery storage, with generating capacities of 128 MW and 75 MW.

9.??European power prices have experienced fluctuations

Almost every weekend since Easter, European generators have been paid to power down plants, but some Northern European nations are experiencing record electricity prices. According to Gerard Reid, co-founder and partner of Alexa Capital, an energy system set up for fossil fuels is in urgent need of reform.
