1.??Astronergy Leadership Insights: Astronergy's "3D" strategy to navigate market fluctuations

#AstronergyLeadershipInsights! In his recent interview with CCTV, Dr. Chuan Lu, Chairman & CEO at Astronergy, shared his insights on the current status and challenges of the solar industry. He emphasized the importance of industry-wide collaboration and outlined Astronergy's "3D" strategy to navigate market fluctuations.

a. Differentiation: Except for competitive pricing, Astronergy also offers other values to our clients through higher product efficiency and reduced LCOE.

b. Downstream: Astronergy expands into downstream businesses to balance our entire value chain and ensure robust financial stability.

c. Diversification: Astronergy has a complete industry chain layout, with investment in PV modules, PV cells, upstream raw materials, and downstream inverters. This will bring us more resilience against market cycles.

Lastly, Dr. Lu concluded that Astronergy will stand firm in our commitment to reshape the global energy landscape through collaborative partnerships and power up a sustainable world where everyone wins.

2.??Amazing event for Astronergy World Tour in Spain

Samuel Zhang, CMO at Astronergy, gave an opening speech and highlighted our dedication to the Spanish market. He said, “With our local team in Spain and the country’s abundant solar resources, we are committed to providing our solar solutions to more public institutions, C&I clients, and end users, accelerating the energy transition!”

Luz Ma, Head of Astronergy Spain, introduced our achievements and module products, including ASTRO N7 and ASTRO N8 n-type TOPCon PV modules to the participants.

Featuring 210mm square wafers and TOPCon 4.0 cell technology, ASTRO N8 boasts a maximum power output of 720W and a conversion efficiency reaching 23.2%. With a larger dimension of 2384m X 1303mm X 33mm and a bifaciality rate of over 80%, ASTRO N8 will become an optimal choice for utility-scale solar stations. Moreover, ASTRO N8 ensures enhanced reliability by passing rigorous tests such as TC, PID, DH, etc.

3.??Announcement: Astronergy’s strategic partnership with Pinergy

During our participation at Solar & Storage Live UK, Astronergy reached a 40MW framework supply agreement with Pinergy, one of Ireland's leading electricity providers and EPCs! We will provide our high-efficiency TOPCon PV modules to Pinergy for residential, C&I, and utility-scale projects in 2024 and 2025.

Samuel Zhang, CMO at Astronergy, and Ronan Power, CEO at Pinergy, attended the signing ceremony to witness the strategic partnership agreement. Samuel said, “This partnership marks a significant step to expand our footprint in Ireland. Together with Pinergy, we aim to deliver module products that benefit local communities and drive sustainable growth for Ireland.”

4.??Highlights of Astronergy at Solar Ireland 2024

We were proud to join this year's edition of Solar Ireland and it was a huge success! Simon Baggaley, our Country Manager in the UK & Ireland, shared valuable insights during the "Supply Chain and Sustainability" panel discussion. And Nagla Kirkpatrick, our Project Sales Director in the UK & Ireland, delivered a keynote on Astronergy's dedication to traceability and our path to carbon neutrality.

In 2023, Astronergy announced our Sustainability Strategy, aiming to realize carbon neutrality across value chain by 2050.?To enhance our products' traceability and eco-friendliness, we have outlined a comprehensive Green Supply Chain Management system built on Green Suppliers, Green Design, Green Manufacturing, Green Recycling, and Green Data Disclosure.

We have made every effort to build a green and reliable supply chain, not just for us, but for our global clients and partners. We will continue our sustainable efforts to support Ireland to achieve renewable energy targets by 2030.

5.??Executive Solar Dialogues in Cape Town

Hosted by AFSIA (Africa Solar Industry Association) on October 2nd, the 2nd Edition of Executive Solar Dialogues brought together industry leaders to discuss the future of solar energy in Africa.

PV market news this week:

1.??Gambia launches tender for 50 MW solar-plus-storage project

Gambian utility Nawec is seeking proposals for a 50 MW PV facility planned to be deployed in Soma, south of the River Gambia. The project is part of a broader solar project eventually including unspecified cell storage capacity.

2.??European Commission approves €1 billion Portuguese manufacturing scheme

The European Commission has approved a €1 billion state aid scheme for Portugal to invest in the manufacturing of equipment necessary for the country’s transition to a net-zero economy, including solar modules and cells.?

3.??New Zealand steps up approvals process for large-scale PV projects

Ten large-scale solar farms planned for New Zealand’s North and South islands are among 22 renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 3 GW that have been listed for inclusion in the government’s “one-stop shop” fast-track approvals process.

4.??Australian government approves 800 MW new solar PV capacity

The IEA-PVPS has released a report analyzing the development of the 2023 power systems market in the United States, defined as all nationally installed terrestrial PV applications with a capacity above 40 GW.

6.??Africa needs a regional strategy for PV manufacturing

A new policy paper from the African Policy Research Institute (APRI) recommends that Africa adopts a regionalized PV strategy to successfully integrate into the global solar value chain. It warns that without a coordinated approach, individual countries are unlikely to integrate into the global market.?
