Weekly update: Nothing Is Impossible! The COCO Team Is Giving Its All to Launch the New Site on Time!

Our ambitions are high, and launching the revamped COCO site is a top priority that we’re working toward as a team. Although the deadline is tight and it may seem challenging to meet the planned release date, every team member is giving their all. We know the task ahead is no small feat, but our drive to stick to the timeline pushes us forward. For the COCO team, nothing is impossible, and we’re doing everything we can to bring you the new site in November!

Completing API Work, Structuring Pages, and Coordinating Development: This Week’s Highlights

This was a busy and productive week for our development team. We successfully completed work on the API and made important updates to the site structure to improve content management and navigation.

Key API Achievements

  • Created help documentation and a self-documented REST API request, simplifying data access. Now, custom search queries, location data, and listing content are unified in one structure, making interaction significantly easier.
  • Added data for efficient pagination, content for contractor pages, and location data. This creates a seamless user interaction and navigation chain, improving the intuitiveness of the search.

Global Site Improvements

  • Developed a flexible URL system that optimizes link encoding and decoding. This feature simplifies API requests, making content interaction even more stable and user-friendly.

Progress on Back-End Pages

  • Completed template development for headers, footers, and listing pages. These include automatically generated content blocks from the API, making the site structure more cohesive.
  • Set up convenient page-by-page navigation, making it easier to explore extensive content.

Main Page Completed, and Badges Designed for Ranking Participants

We’ve completed the design for the homepage! The main challenge was creating the “Partners and Sponsors” section. This is part of our new strategy to attract partners and sponsors to accelerate project growth and enter new markets by 2025. We also created unique badges for participants and winners in our rankings, allowing them to showcase their achievements. Currently, the design team is working on the remaining pages. Given that the deadline for announcing the best U.S. contractor is approaching, we may not complete the entire site update by then. The remaining elements will be completed after our main event of the year. Additionally, we’ve begun creating certificates for contractors who secure top spots in the ranking. These certificates will be sent to the companies after the final results are announced. Yes, time is tight, but the team is doing everything possible to meet the planned dates!

Impressive Social Media Growth: Pinterest Is Booming, and Instagram Takes First Steps Towards Contractor Collaboration!

This past week has been especially successful for our social media channels. We’re seeing significant growth on Pinterest: our views have increased to 4.8K monthly views! After a recent Pinterest consultation, Vikki has been actively working on improving our page and each pin to prepare the platform for even more extensive development and targeted audience engagement. The current strategy is already showing positive results, and we believe this is just the beginning! We also had some good news on Instagram. Two more contractors confirmed co-authoring, marking an important step in our collaboration, and have already started reposting content where we tagged their companies. This strengthens our presence and increases audience trust by showing that we are supported by industry leaders. Additionally, one of our Reels reached a record 600 views—a significant milestone for our account, showing that our content resonates with users. We have many more plans for social media growth, but the results so far inspire us to keep improving our strategy, attracting more engaged followers.

Meticulous Work from Our Analyst and Mystery Shoppers

This week, our analyst Ann focused on thoroughly verifying data collected by our mystery shopper, Maya. Thanks to a new assistant who now supports Maya, they were able to ramp up interactions with companies, regularly reaching out to contractors to request additional information and clarify details. This process requires high attention to detail to ensure every aspect is covered. As always, Ann strives for the utmost accuracy in data verification. Over the week, she sent four cities back for revision, identifying nuances that required further clarification. Five other cities were sent to the copywriter to create articles, and we’re already seeing the results on our blog. You can now find new publications for cities like Charlotte, TX, Baltimore, MD, Denver, CO, Philadelphia, PA, and more. Each article is the culmination of detailed work, and we’re excited to share these results with you, helping you choose the most reliable and verified contractors.

Growing Content for Our Social Media, Website, and Blogs

Our copywriter Alice completed a major task this week, writing texts for the FAQ section on the new listing page. This project took two weeks and required Alice’s full attention to ensure every line was informative and user-friendly.

We’re also considering additional platforms beyond Substack to share valuable content. Next week, we plan to release more articles analyzing city-specific pricing, along with three new materials. We can share a sneak peek into one topic: we’re preparing a guide on running an Instagram account for businesses in the countertop industry. This will be a practical guide with tips, marking the first publication in a series of SMM articles for contractors. We want to share our experience and show how to improve visual presentation, build brand recognition, and establish trust with audiences. In the future, we plan to offer SMM and marketing consultations, supporting our partners not only through rankings but also by enhancing their online presence.

Stay tuned—there’s so much we want to share with you and teach you!

Always yours, Max Kuchma, Founder and CEO, Countertops Contractors
