Astronergy had an amazing time engaging with industry experts at the Solar Quality Summit Europe 2024! Ibrahim Desouky, our Technical Manager of EMEA, took the stage to discuss the evolving landscape of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) in the solar industry.

Powered by TOPCon 3.0 cell technology, our ASTRO N7 TOPCon PV products achieve a 5.5% reduction in voltage, resulting in a BOS cost saving of $0.014-0.042 and a reduced LCOE cost. This financial flexibility allows for strategic resource allocation towards preventative maintenance, monitoring technologies, and comprehensive workforce training, all pivotal for achieving optimal solar system performance.

7.??Introducing Malaysia 15MW D&Y Rooftop Solar Plant


We're thrilled to introduce our latest project, the D&Y Textile Rooftop Solar Plant, marking Malaysia's one of the largest C&I distributed rooftop solar projects!

Project Highlights:

-Location: Kulai, Johor, Malaysia

-Capacity: Powered by 15MW of ASTRO N5 TOPCon PV modules

-Grid Connection Date: December 6th, 2023

After connecting to the grid, this project will make a significant impact on sustainability. It is projected to reduce 13,949.96 tons of carbon dioxide annually and will save $1.52 million in electricity fees for the first year. In the long-term run, a total of $38 million will be saved for D&Y Textile by 2025.

PV market news this week:

1.??India’s SECI launches 1.5 GW solar tender

Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI) is accepting bids to set up 1.5 GW of solar PV power projects on a build-own-operate basis. These projects can be located anywhere in India and must connect to the interstate transmission system. The bidding process closes on Feb. 23.

2.??Romania installs 624 MW new electricity capacity in 2023

Romania added 624 MW of power generation capacity in 2023, according to the Energy Ministry. This includes 496 MW of new solar power plants, a significant increase

from 25 MW added in 2022. An increase in the number of prosumers took the total installed capacity for this segment to over 1.5 GW at the end of 2023.

3.??India’s NTPC seeks 1.5 GW of bifacial PV modules

India’s NTPC aims to acquire 1.5 GW of bifacial PV modules for the Khavda solar facility, situated in a salt desert near the border with Pakistan. This endeavor will require an investment of $2.26 billion.

4.??Solaria receives approvals for 595MW PV site in Spain

Spanish photovoltaics developer Solaria has received construction authorization to commence building its 595MW Garo?a solar project in the province of Burgos, northern Spain. The site will replace the Santa María de Garo?a nuclear plant, which is reaching the end of its useful lifespan.

5.??India announces scheme to install rooftop solar on 10 million homes

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana scheme, allowing 10 million households to install rooftop solar. The program will reduce electricity bills for the poor and middle class, while also fostering energy self-reliance in India.

6.??Spanish self-consumption capacity exceeds nuclear power

APPA Renovables says Spain installed 1.94 GW of new self-consumption solar PV capacity in 2023. UNEF’s number is a little lower at 1.7 GW, representing an annual drop of 32%. Both the associations agree that 2022 was an exceptional year for this segment with geopolitical crisis and high energy prices.

7.??Solar canopies as a central pillar of IRA-driven energy transition

With a significant portion of the space in United States cities allocated for parking, the dual-pronged approach of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) – production tax credits to drive investment in domestic manufacturing and investment tax credits to attract consumer-side investment – means solar canopies can make a huge contribution to the net zero drive.

8.??Saudi Arabia identifies 1,200 sites for wind, solar projects

The Saudi energy minister, Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, has said that experts have identified 1,200 sites for the deployment of large-scale wind and solar projects across the country.

9.??EU’s December 2023 Chinese Solar Imports Add Up To 4.5 GW

EUPD says Chinese solar module imports to the EU added up to around 4.5 GW in December 2023. Analysts see module price decrease as a reason for around 500 MW increase in December. It pegs total solar PV module imports to the bloc adding up to 87 GW in 2023.

10.??ICRA expects India to add 17 GW of new PV capacity this year

Ratings agency ICRA says India could install 17 GW of new PV capacity this year and another 20 GW in 2025. It maintains a stable outlook for the renewable energy sector in India on the back of strong policy support, healthy demand prospects, and tariff competitiveness.
