2.??Astronergy global projects: 625kW?Yaqub Group Project in Pakistan

To better meet our client's demands, we power this project with ASTRO N5 bi-facial PV modules. With a temperature coefficient of ≤-0.29°C, ASTRO N5 is ideal for areas with challenging environments. Additionally, we leverage the 16-busbar design to maximize power output, ensuring more energy production and higher efficiency for our clients.

The project is now connected to the grid, generating around 912500kWh of clean electricity for Yaqub Group annually. This will greatly reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, and accelerate their transition to sustainable energies.

3.??Astronergy global projects: 7.2MW Ashburton Solar Farm in New Zealand

In collaboration with RCR Green, Astronergy supplied 11,750 pieces of ASTRO N5 n-type PV modules to this project. The solar farm covers eight hectares and will generate approximately 10870.13 MWh annually, which is equivalent to supporting 2,500 homes.

This project adopts an agrivoltaic model, allowing the farm owners to graze sheep under the solar modules. This will ensure a stable generation of clean energy and protect local biodiversity with sustainable farming practices.

4.??Upcoming expo: Intersolar & Energy Storage North America

What's new about Astronergy's participation at Intersolar & Energy Storage North America in 2025? We are excited to showcase our high hail resistance PV modules, offering enhanced reliability and durability for local clients in the U.S.

PV market news this week:

1.??Most European markets see electricity prices rise

The weekly average electricity price was above €140 ($146.35)/MWh last week across most major European markets, due to a fall in solar and wind production and increased electricity demand, according to AleaSoft’s latest analysis.

2.??Cyprus curtails 29% of renewable energy in 2024

Cyprus’ record curtailment did not come as a surprise. A year ago, the local transmission grid operator predicted the country would need to curtail 29% of its?domestic renewable energy generation?in 2024 due to low seasonal demand and the need to keep the network stable.

3.??Italy installed 6.8 GW of solar in 2024

Italy?reached 37.08 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity, spread across 1,878,780 installations, at the end of December 2024, according to new statistics from Italia Solare. Last year, the country added 6.8 GW of new solar capacity.

4.??France plans to slash feed-in tariffs for rooftop PV up to 500 kW

France's Ministry of Ecological Transition has outlined a proposal to slash the feed-in tariffs (FiTs) for all rooftop PV systems with a capacity of up to 500 kW.

5.??Germany introduces new rules for solar remuneration during negative prices

The new provisions will apply to all PV systems exceeding 2 kW in size. Compensation for lost FiT is possible if the systems have a smart meter. In this case, the negative hours are added after the end of the 20-year subsidy period, which is thus extended.

6.??UK grid connection reform plan unveiled, solar association voices concern

Energy regulator Ofgem unveils plans to reform decade-long grid connection queues in Great Britain, but solar trade association Solar Energy UK warns an element of the proposal could result in regional caps for solar deployment.

7.??Swiss consortium switches on vertical solar-plus-storage project

The Baumgarten solar project consists of a 366kW ground-mounted vertical PV array and a 2.5 MW/3 MWh storage facility.

8.??Companies express interest in developing 235 MW of solar in Albania

Albania’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has received expressions of interest from four companies looking to construct four solar projects with a cumulative capacity totaling 235 MW.

9.??SPIC begins work on 10 GW heterojunction cell, module factory

State Power Investment Corporation?(SPIC) broke ground on a 10 GW high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) solar cell and module manufacturing project in Suining, Sichuan province. The project, with an investment of CNY 8 billion ($1.1 billion), will be constructed in two phases.

10.? Net-metering scheme hits 141 MW in the Philippines

The Philippines’ Department of Energy says its net-metering program has added around 141 MW to the grid since its inception in 2015.

11.? India mandates co-locating energy storage with solar projects

India’s Ministry of Power has mandated all renewable energy implementing agencies and state utilities must incorporate a minimum of two-hour co-located energy storage systems (ESS), equivalent to 10% of the installed solar project capacity, in future solar tenders.
