2. 5GW TOPCon PV module manufacturing capacity added

On April 12, the 2nd phase of Astronergy Yancheng Manufacturing Base received its 5GW TOPCon solar module manufacturing devices.

Astronergy n-type TOPCon module capacity is to hit a new high, that's another move in the company's expansion on TOPCon cells and modules.

1.?China?to vigorously promote solar PV & wind power capacity in 2023 with 160GW target

The National Energy Administration (NEA) in China has announced the country will target to install 160GW of new solar PV and wind energy capacity in 2023, increasing the installations for these 2 power generation sources by 28% from 125.04 GW in 2022.

2.?EU?launches first cross-border solar tender

The European Union has launched its first tender for cross-border, utility-scale solar projects. The European Executive Agency for Climate Infrastructures and the Environment (CINEA) is the entity that will hold the procurement exercise. It will award solar projects ranging in size from 5 MW to 100 MW.

3. Bids for?Germany’s 1.95GW ground-mounted solar systems receive overwhelming subscription

Germany has seen an oversubscription in bids for ground-mounted solar systems, exceeding the tendered amount by 47%.?

The Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) announced that with a tendered quantity of 1.95GW, 347 bids with a volume of 2.87GW were submitted. In total, 245 bids with a volume of 1.95GW were accepted. The deadline for this bid was 1 March 2023.

4.?Belgium’s Flanders region launches new call for solar rebates

The Flemish authorities have allocated a budget of €3 million ($3.3 million) for the first round of its solar rebate scheme. The call is open to homeowners, businesses, public organizations, and energy communities.

5.?Israel?introduces storage-linked tariff for distributed PV

The Electricity Authority of Israel has decided to regulate the connection of energy storage systems to low-voltage PV plants with capacities of up to 630 kW. It is introducing a supplementary tariff for PV and storage facilities that share single-metered connection points to the grid, in order to reduce bottlenecks on the grid.

6.?Italy?sets new provisions for innovative agrivoltaics

The Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has unveiled a new incentive scheme to support innovative agrivoltaic solutions. The Italian government has submitted the new provisions to the European Commission and will now have to wait for its approval.

1. New selenization process paves way for 14%-efficient kesterite solar cells

Scientists in China claim to have gauged the selenization annealing process for kesterite solar cells, in order to achieve a kesterite absorber with low defects. They have developed a device with a certified efficiency of 13.8%.

2. Translucent tandem perovskite-perovskite solar cells for BIPV

An international research group has made translucent perovskite solar cells to maintain decent levels of average visible transmittance (AVT) while offering higher efficiency. They tested different module and cell configurations and produced a two-terminal, perovskite-perovskite tandem device with an efficiency of 17.7% at 12% AVT.
