Weekly Spark & Kindling (4/15)

Your inspirational quote for this week is:

“It is what you read when you don't have to that determines what you will be when you can't help it.” - Oscar Wilde

The action I'm inviting you to take on is:

Read (or at least choose and start) a book that isn't something you would typically pick up. Ask a colleague, friend or random person, what book do they recommend? I'll be honest, I don't LOVE this request as I'm currently loving what I'm reading, but I will take it on.

You can hear [briefly] about my action in next week's newsletter. If you're comfortable sharing about your experience, I would LOVE to hear from you! Respond here or tag me on Facebook or Instagram! Have a great week!

About last week's action:

I kind of hated it. As I do most of my note taking in my ipad, I ALWAYS use different colors and different color highlighters. For me to use a different shade, I had to use BLACK. I kept wanting to change it, to make it a brighter color, a different color because it was a new topic or day or whatever. What can I learn from this? I probably bias my existing way as the better way. Also, I have this fear around being afraid to break something that's working with change. Even though I knew it wouldn't happen, I was sort of afraid the notes I took in black ink wouldn't serve me the way they would if I used my "normal" or "existing" system. I notice that I'm struggling with this right now when it comes to my workouts. I've been doing pilates & yoga every morning since we started 75 Hard. Now, I want to add running to my daily workouts. I'm afraid to mess with my morning routine because it's working soooo well and I love it sooo much. Even though I know from my history that running does serve me. Now, what will I do about this? Hmmmm....recently, my "solution" has been to stick with my morning routine and to TRY to add it later in the day. TRY being the key word here. I think, if I were going to take my own advice and not over think it, not keep thinking that whatever I decide, I am deciding FOREVER. If I were going to take that advice, I would commit to running in the morning, minimum of 25 minutes.....for....two weeks. I assume there will be an initial energy drain, but hopefully by the end of two weeks, I'll have a good sense of whether or not I need to pivot.

What came up for you? Anything you're up for sharing? As always, I'd love to hear from you! If you want to connect via zoom and can't find time that works for you, let me know! I have other times available for those interested!

Be Well,

Coach Faust
