France Launches 400 MW PV Tender For Over 500 kW Systems: The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has launched the 10th tender round for solar PV installations for commercial and industrial (C&I) segment for the period between 2021 and 2026 with individual capacities of over 500 kW. The previous call was also for 400 MW capacity.??
Solar panels for the eligible projects can be installed as rooftop solar, agrivoltaics, on greenhouses and carports. All such facilities should be located in mainland France.?For agrivoltaic shade houses or agrivoltaic greenhouse projects, an initial report as well as an agricultural monitoring report for the site must be submitted every 3 years on the digital platform set up by the administration.?Of the total capacity, 50 MW is reserved for projects with less than 1 MW capacity. These need to be located more than 250 meters from any other project.?
All eligible projects must have a carbon footprint of less than 740kgCO2/kW. Winning projects will be in operation for 20 years.?The tender call was issued on February 18, 2025. Bids can be submitted between March 17, 2025 to March 28, 2025.??
Oman Selects Bidders For 500 MW Solar Power Plant Tender: Oman’s Nama Power and Water Procurement Company has revealed the list of companies that have officially submitted bids for the 500 MW Ibri III Solar Project, to be located in Al Dhahirah Governorate. The 4 bidders listed include the consortium of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO), and Al Khadra Partners.
ACWA Power Company and TotalEnergies Renewables form another consortium. A bid has also been submitted by the joint partnership of EDF Renouvelables and Korea Western Power (KOWEPO). Sembcorp Utilities has submitted its bid as an individual bidder. A subsidiary of Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries recently announced the successful completion of the acceptance tests for its 588 MW Manah II Solar Project in Oman. These companies were among the 9 shortlisted applicants for the tender out of 12 responses Nama Power received for the Ibri III Solar Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. The project will be located alongside the 500 MW Ibri II Solar Project, commissioned by the ACWA Power-led consortium in 2022 (see Oman Reveals Shortlisted Companies For Ibri III Solar Plant).?The Ibri III project is estimated to be built for a total investment of OMR 155 million ($402.6 million). Its commercial operation date is slated to be Q1 2027.
