I do not plan to explore all of the complexities of achieving goals, teamwork, or helping people in this article. But I wanted to use this blog to share what I have learnt over the last week and the reactions I have seen on different topics.

The week only has 7 days but it has been a long week in terms of experience. One of the themes of my posts last week was around giving back – see my posts below. There are numerous possibilities to give back around the world. With this in mind, it's evident that helping others sets you apart from most people. People commit their time and effort to improve society because it is the natural order of things. Giving back has no limitation.

Some Takeaways

Don't Let Others Decide Your Goals: Allowing others to set or adjust your goals might have several negative consequences for your capacity to achieve them. For starters, allowing others to decide means it's no longer your aim, and you have no sense of ownership or dedication to it because it's no longer your goal. Second, individuals may try to make you more aggressive by setting a larger target than you believe attainable, which, if you lack confidence, can lead to you quitting at the first sign of trouble. Allow people to help you in defining how you will reach your objective if you want them to be a part of it, but don't let them set a new goal for you.

Make a clear picture of what success looks like:?How would you know when you've reached success if you don't know what success looks like? If you don't have a clear goal, you won't make a clear plan to reach it. Clear goals enable you to make clear plans, increasing your chances of success.

Recognize the Importance of your goals:?Understanding why you want to achieve your goals will give you a stronger sense of purpose, which will keep you motivated even in the face of adversity. If things start to go wrong when you don't have a feeling of purpose, nothing stops you from downgrading your aim and lowering the bar. To achieve big, daring goals, you must be solid on the goal but flexible on the approach, and having a compelling why will help you keep your eyes on the prize and keep going even when things got rough.

Keep track of your progress: I believe in the adage that what gets measured gets done, but I believe in the power of motivation even more. When we break down a huge task into smaller pieces, them as we start to achieve them, our belief in the method and confidence that success is possible will improve. If you're in charge of a team, be sure that you track performance and communicate information with your colleagues.

Seeking Investment: Sharing your business idea and looking out for investors isn’t a bad idea. It will help you eliminate your prejudices and blind spots, give you a better grasp of market demands and figure out how to build an effective solution by sharing your idea.
