Weekly Roundup #1

?? pMax can use product images to auto-generate video ads ??

This means that feed-only pMax campaigns may now serve ads on YouTube and even Display placements. I recommend you do the following:

  • Check the Performance Max spend allocation script;
  • Check the "views" column;
  • Check the auto-generated assets;

Additional Performance Max features include:

  • Brand exclusions (Exclude certain brands from your campaign);
  • Diagnostics (Product status for all selected products);
  • Adding Page feeds (Setup similar to Dynamic Search Ads);
  • Asset group metrics;
  • Performance change explanations;
  • Creative strength assessment;

?? Google updates its pMax Best Practices Guide ??

  • It provides retail marketers with new strategies;
  • It encourages focusing on acquiring high-value customers;
  • It explains the new reporting features available;

You can access it through the following link.

?? eCPC goes away from Standard Shopping Campaigns ??

All Standard Shopping using Enhanced CPC will switch to Manual CPC starting in October. Google recommends switching to Performance Max instead, as it may help you achieve similar or better results.

I believe SSCs are great for Single Product strategies, but I have yet to see great results from solely cold traffic.

??New targeting options available in App Install campaigns??

These targeting options will soon be rolled to all - Once they are, you will be able to target by Keywords, Placements, and Topics in your Google App Campaigns;

?? Google Ads releases Responsive Search Ads guide ??

The guide covers topics such as:

  • How RSAs work;
  • The impact of Ad Strength ratings;
  • Tips for creating high-quality ad assets;
  • Best practice for assessing RSA performance;

You can access it through the following link.
