Weekly recap EyeTools Questions of the Day. Week of Jan 24-29.
I hope you enjoyed this week's Questions of the Day and my responses. By way of reminder, here are the questions again.
Question of the Day #335
I have recently seen several patients with reduced vision due to cataract and/or age-related macular degeneration and I couldn’t help them see better with a new spectacle prescription. I always find it difficult to explain that new glasses won’t help with vision.
Do you have any suggestions?
Question of the Day #336
I work in community practice. The manager has encouraged me to recommend an anti-reflection coating to all patients including those who only need single-vision reading glasses for home-based near visual tasks. I understand the benefits of an anti-reflection coating for moderate to high prescriptions, high index lenses, for nighttime driving, and for office use, I can’t see any benefit for a person who needs a low prescription only for home-based near tasks. What’s your opinion on this?
