Happy Friday from the very snowy Arizona White Mountains!

This is my families second winter in the White Mountains. Last winter was very mild, a few big storms and the snow was mostly gone by this time last year. This water year we have received over 40" of snow, with more in the forecast. Snow in February is hard for someone who is ready for dry trails and 80-degrees. Most mornings on the way to school, my four year old tells me she is sick of the snow, which inevitably leads into a discussion of how snow helps recharge our aquifers.

These almost daily conversations I have with my 4-year old are not very different then the conversations that are going on around not only Arizona, but in all of the Colorado River Basin States. Here is a snapshot of articles of what is going on water wise in the Colorado Basin I found interesting this week.
