The Weekly One: Reflecting on important relationships

The Weekly One: Reflecting on important relationships

Thanks to all of you who saw my reel of the beautiful cottage in the Malvern Hills and got in touch to ask me if it was as lovely as it looked - I can promise you that it was!?

Have you ever felt lonely and a bit stuck? Let me know!?

I remember when I was working at Milton Keynes Council as a rehab assistant and feeling a bit lonely. I had lots of friends but most of them lived in different parts of the U.K. It crossed my mind that I probably wouldn't really make any new friends now that I was in my mid-20's. If I could spend some time with that younger version of myself, I would say, don't worry at all. In just a few years' time, you're going to have friends in such abundance you'll never be home!?

My friend fiesta started when I moved to St Andrew's Healthcare, where there were loads of fellow assistant psychologists. I couldn't believe how fun it could be to work, get paid and do a job I loved!?

I have also had the grace and fortune to meet such supportive and empowering supervisors and colleagues along the way too. I just adore reflecting on how much they have encouraged and supported me along the way. As an aspiring psychologist and as a qualified one, it was important I was able to practice being vulnerable, open and reflective. It can be a bit like a therapy relationship really!
