Cecilia is the new director at METCentre
Cecilia Girard-Vika will be responsible for the test activities at the world leading Marine Energy Test Centre on the West Coast of Norway.?
2025 will be a busy year for the METCentre, with several new projects in the pipeline. Girard-Vika holds a master’s degree in marine technology, and her professional background is with the Norwegian Maritime Authority. She joined the METCentre team as a project manager in 2022, and from January on she takes the helm as the new Director.?
-The test activities at the METCentredrivesing the floating offshore wind industry forward and contributes to new learnings to improve the technology and reduce the cost. I am really motivated to lead the important work we are doing, together with our fantastic team and our clients, says Girard-Vika.?

?Winners of Japan’s third offshore wind auction announced
Two strong consortia have been awarded with two areas with the total capacity of 1 GW. The timing is perfect for our upcoming Visit NOW to Tokyo February 17-21.
A consortium of JERA Co., Inc., Green Power Investment, and Tohoku Electric Power Co Inc won the 615 megawatts (MW) wind farm on the southern side of the Japan Sea The consortium consisting of Marubeni Corporation, The Kansai Electric Power co., inc. , BP's unit BP IOTA, Tokyo Gas Asia Pte. Ltd. and local firm Marutaka secured the 450 MW wind farm off the coast of Yamagata prefecture near the Yuza town.
