Weekly Nugget: What Brings Us Together
Click here to listen to this newsletter.
During a recent session with one of my EOS? clients, we discussed the purpose of why we are all together and how, as a business, as an organization, together?we can resolve issues - ?when it's about all of us, and maybe our egos get in the way.?
I referred back to the EOS Model? and how the EOS Model? has in its middle your company, your organization, whoever is, whatever is the collective whole of why we are together, and we sum it up with the words “Your Business”.?
When we are in a position where we're either stuck, or there's a disagreement, or we don't align very well as people, we always have to ask the question, “What's best for the business?” We may love each other, we may have worked together for many many years, but the bottom line is we're together because we've got a business that we run together. The purpose of the business is the collective bigger cause that we are all driving, the greater good.?
Instead of asking, "What's best for me, my ego, my politics, my career, or my department?" we all need to ask, "What's best for the business collectively?" That comes first. If we can align around that and we decide and we're driving in that direction of what serves the collective good better, that will drive us to success.?

All the strife, all the disagreements, the feeling of being stuck can be alleviated. We can get together and we can drive together in one direction.? When we, as a leadership team, do that, this spreads to the rest of the company, and we teach people at all levels to always think what's best for the company first. Not what's best for me, my department, my ego, or whatever- what's best for the company as a whole, so that we drive the company forward, and we achieve our vision and our purpose for the company.
I hope you find this helpful. I always refer back to the company, because that is the place where we can resolve these issues.?
Have a great week, and we'll speak again next week. ?
Best wishes,
