Weekly Nugget: Meeting Time Is Not Conversation Time!
Click here to listen to this newsletter.
A key game changer for my clients, as they grow on their path of mastery in EOS?, is when they realize that a meeting time is not conversation time, it is much more.?It needs to become a discipline. Instead of someone leading a meeting and people conversing and updating each other all the time, we need a facilitator.
The job of the facilitator is to put on a warrior mindset, be super prepared and be always active and driving the agenda. With an eye on the clock and an eye in the room, this person leads the conversation and plays the role of a conductor of an orchestra. They have to make sure that everyone gets their equal airtime so that we can make this big music together. Additionally, they also have to jump in from time to time and bring their own issue in, and bring their own conversation in.
So, it's even a little bit more complicated than just simply conducting an orchestra. The facilitator's job also is to interrupt people who go off on tangents, or to stop people who are repeating themselves and running the risk of going into politics.?They have to be on the lookout for everyone around the table, and make sure that the quiet one in the corner, who often has the best idea, brings those ideas to the table as well, to make sure that everyone gets their turn.
When you have a strong facilitator and a disciplined team, the whole team starts to soar, and the meeting becomes a fun event.?
We update each other quickly, we do everything we need to drop issues down to the issues list, and then we solve those issues together. And the success comes from solving those issues at their root, and solving them once and for all, and moving down the issues list very well together.

There you have it. Remember: meeting time is not conversation time, it's a discipline. If you want to know more or learn more, I made a Deep Dive video especially on this subject, and there's a handy PDF that you can download on the subject, as well. You can find it on my website here .
I hope you found this useful. If you, or you know anyone else who needs EOS? in their life, let me know and I'll be glad to tell them more.
Have a fantastic week!
Best wishes,
Nico
