As we come to the end of Quarter 3, I think it’s time for everyone to consider where we are in the pandemic. I find it very interesting the decisions that we need to make, the trade-offs between health risks and productivity on a national, business and personal level. There is no question that the current situation is difficult when you compare it to what you would have considered “normal” prior to March of 2020. There is also no question that this situation gives us pause and is an opportunity to re-evaluate how we go about life and work. No one, no matter whether their opinion is based in politics, logic or science, will be able to tell you when this will be over. Now is the time to think about how you can adapt. Adapt to be more productive at work and be happier and more present at home. When faced with a challenge, we generally can figure out how to overcome that challenge within the time allotted for our 24 hour day. Through elimination of activities that don’t provide you value or positive results and being more present and intentional about the time investments that do we can achieve what we want. If and when things get easier and get back to normal, the work you put in now will only benefit your future habits, your future work and your future relationships. Whatever you do, try to find the opportunity in the challenge right now and focus on making it work for you. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay happy.
“There is never time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.” - James Baldwin

4 年Very well said. We all need to accept that this challenge is not going away soon, and we are all going to adapt whether we like it or not - the only option we have is to adapt for the positive or negative.
