Meta Expands Reels Overlay Ads to More Brands
Meta is starting to offer ads that appear with a large CTA (call-to-action) on Reels videos to more brands. These ads can be a single image or a carousel with a large CTA appearing on top. This format allows brands to make eye-catching and engaging advertisements by taking advantage of the popularity of Reels videos.
Reels videos reach a large audience with 200 billion views daily on Facebook and Instagram. Reels account for a large portion of the usage growth on Facebook and enable users to stay on the app longer.
New Reels placement ads will be available to more advertisers over time. Ads can be published by selecting Reels placements in Meta Ads Manager.
LinkedIn's Automatic "Accelerate" Campaigns Open to All Brands
LinkedIn offers “Accelerate” campaigns to all brands, which completely automates the campaign creation process using AI. These campaigns, which launched in limited testing last year, create an optimized campaign recommendation by scanning the given URL and the company's LinkedIn presence.
Users can review and adjust recommendations before starting a campaign. LinkedIn states that this new feature increases campaign creation efficiency by 15% and reduces cost per action by 52%.

TikTok Announces Eventbrite Integration for Event Promotion
TikTok announced a new partnership with event platform Eventbrite. Thanks to this integration, TikTok users will be able to easily share links to events listed on Eventbrite in their videos.
By clicking on the direct links in the TikTok clips, viewers will be directed to the Eventbrite app or website where they can get more information and make a reservation.
TikTok stated that with this partnership, every user can create events and promote them directly to the TikTok community. Users will be able to add multiple event links to their videos and viewers will be shown the most relevant event based on their location.
This integration comes in addition to TikTok's other ticketing partnerships such as Ticketmaster and CTS EVENTIM to increase the promotion of real-life events. While TikTok has become a major platform specifically for music promotion, the Eventbrite connection will also enable smaller artists to promote their events.

Instagram Restricts Carousel Promotion with Variable Image Sizes
Instagram does not allow the promotion of new variable image size carousels that contain full-screen sized images. This feature, introduced last month, allowed users to upload carousels containing images of different sizes.
However, carousels containing a full-screen image cannot be promoted, and users receive an error message when they try to promote such posts. This may affect the promotional use of carousels and the value of the update.
Meta Tests AI Comment Summaries on Facebook
Meta is testing Meta AI summaries in Facebook post comment streams. These summaries provide a general consensus of what people are saying about that post.
The new feature appears at the top of some post comment feeds, summarizing what users think about that update. This feature allows users to get a general idea by reading comments one by one. However, it has been criticized for going against the "social" nature of social media apps.
YouTube and X are also working on similar AI comment summaries. Meta's comment summaries work at the individual post level, aiming to help users quickly understand overall comments.
Instagram is Testing 'Super Like' Feature for Stories
Instagram is testing a new "Super Like" feature for Stories. This feature allows users to express their interest in a story by long-pressing the like button. It is stated that the feature will only allow users to super like once a day, which suggests that it may not be a paid option.
Superlikes can help users express specific interests and prompt the algorithm to show more posts from these users in the future.
WhatsApp Adds 'Favorites' Tab for Important Connections
WhatsApp has added a new "Favorites" tab to make it easier for users to stay in touch with the people that matter most. This feature allows users to easily find and quickly search for the most important people and groups.
The Favorites tab has been organized to be the same across chats and calls. WhatsApp announced that this feature will be available starting today and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
