Top theme for the year: Catastrophe modelling and exposure management

Leading up to our conference Exponential Risk London 25, a defining theme for the year was all things catastrophe modelling. We highlighted the industry's challenges in addressing climate-related risks, particularly flooding and severe convective storms (SCS). A significant portion of flood losses remains uninsured, with 83% of such losses over the past decade lacking coverage.Traditional indemnity insurance often fails to cover the full extent of damages, including business interruptions. To mitigate these gaps, insurers are leveraging advanced data modeling, AI and real-time analytics to enhance risk prediction and resilience.?
