Weekly Newsletter 17th July: The way to broker digitisation
“The way technology's been deployed in the past is like buying a car. Teach me how to drive, give me your car keys and I'll be on my way. That's not the way it is now. It's iterative.” Lewis Gibbons, Operations Director at Howden?
What can we learn about digital transformation from those currently undergoing the process??
At our June evening event, we had Oliver Woods at WTW and Lewis Gibbons at Howden speak to Tom Arnold at PPL Placing Platform Limited about their motivations for data-led, digitally-enabled trading.??
One of the key benefits that became apparent was the possibility to create a global network with digital structured data on a singular platform - looking beyond business reserved to the London Market.
Touching on both their current success stories and the difficulty in maintaining adoption to levels a business needs, our panelists lastly emphasised the need for the industry to spotlight the longer journey ahead for digital transformation.?
The key is to position user case studies in the near future, of 12 to 18 months time, to truly get an accurate picture of what digital transformation can look like for users.
