Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Tata Sons (Tata) have agreed upon the decision to merge Air India and Vistara. SIA will also be investing INR 2,058 Crores (S$360 million, US$250 million) in Air India as part of the transaction. This investment would give SIA a 25.1% stake in an enlarged Air India group with a significant presence in all key market segments. SIA and Tata aim to complete the merger by March 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. Read More.
ATR, a regional aircraft manufacturer, has delivered the first ATR 72-600 aircraft with the brand new Pratt& Whitney PW127XT engine for the launch customer Air Corsica. Following a firm order for five new ATR 72-600 jet which was announced in 2021 at the Dubai Airshow, this delivery marks an important step in Air Corsica’s fleet upgrade and sustainable development. Lufthansa Technik AG, the provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services has formally announced the handing over of the second Airbus A350-900 government aircraft to the German Armed Forces. The newly delivered aircraft, bearing the tactical registration 10+01, will soon join the fleet of the Federal Ministry of Defense’s (BMVg) Special Air Mission Wing of Germany for long-haul political-parliamentary flight operations.
