- The NLRB’s decision is in response to a union campaign at Cemex, a global construction materials company based in Houston, Texas.?
- The board ruled that if a union claims majority employee support, the employer must either recognize it and negotiate or swiftly request an election.?
- If the employer's unfair labor practice cancels the election, they'll be told to recognize and negotiate with the union instead of redoing the vote.?
2. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Pushed Back The Roth Catch-Up Contribution Date?
- Catch-up contributions for plan sponsors and employees are now delayed until 2026.?
- The catch-up contributions for those earning $145,000 or more are now delayed until January 1st, 2026, instead of the initial January 1st, 2024, date.?
- The plan also clarified that participants 50 years of age and older can continue to make catch-up contributions after 2023.?

- The DOL proposed a new rule to expand who can accompany Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance officers in workplace inspections.?
- The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act allows employers and employees to select an authorized representative to accompany OSHA inspectors.?
- The OSHA inspector still has the authority to prevent an individual from participating in a walkaround inspection if their conduct interferes with a fair and orderly inspection.?

- The projected increase would almost double the health care price hike from 2022 to 2023.?

- Employers must complete a physical document examination for all employees hired on or after March 20th, 2020, who had only a virtual or remote document examination.?
- An employer must obtain, inspect, and retain copies of an employee’s I-9 documents.?
