Weekly Motivation - "Advice from my Father"
Throughout my life, I have received tremendous inspiration from my father, Retired Colonel Renard “Bernie” Marable. Despite an under-privileged background, he rose to become a high ranking officer in the U.S. Army. During his military career, he became a Green Beret, Army Ranger, and the 1st African-American battalion commander in the 82nd Airborne to lead troops into battle (Operation Just Cause). He also served in Vietnam and Iraq. My father taught me powerful lessons such as work ethic, patience, toughness, perseverance, sacrifice, humility, and commitment. In celebration of Father’s Day, I would like to share a powerful lesson from my Dad:
