Is it now week 4 of our new norm? This week I finally got myself into some sort of routine after the shock and yes grief of what has happened in the past few weeks. It took longer than I thought to adjust to the self-isolation and social distancing plus all the constantly changing rules. Like many of us who are adjusting, we are all trying our best to navigate these unexpected times. It occurred to me that this was an opportunity to focus on our values, leadership and mission to build more kind and courageous leaders.
Courageous leaders inspire courageous actions.
I feel the world needs this type of leadership more today than ever before. In turn, I am reaching out to as many people as I can to offer help whilst creating more resources and programs; mostly free and finally using this time to become braver and better myself whilst lifting my amazing team and you all to be more courageous. Deep breath.
I know there is a lot fear and "uncertainty" at present however courage is fear and nothing is certain in life, nothing. Shitty, unexpected and awful things can happen and the strength of a true leader is how we respond to this stuff.
How can we all be more courageous and kinder during this time and moving forward? It starts with us. Each week I want to share and inspire you all my key leadership insights, some news, blogs, videos, learnings and more to help you be the best version of you.
Please feel free to share and comment too.
Great Videos to Watch Now
Do you watch TED talks? Now is the perfect time to watch and learn from these talks. I love TED Talks and here is a link to the Top 10 TED talks that will change your Life. One of my favourite's is Dan Gilbert's on the surprising science of happiness.
Great Article to Read
The one thing I didn't realise throughout the past month is the grief I and many others were feeling. This is a great article from Harvard Business Review around how to feel the grief and keep moving.
Great Book to Read
What do we want more of in life? That's the question. It's not accomplishments. It's not popularity. It's the moments we feel we are enough. More presence. More clarity. More insight. More truth. More stillness.
Excerpt from the book The Stillness by Ryan Holiday
Article on Linkedin
This article was trending on LinkedIn. One of my clients Alastair Dawson wrote an interesting article on Assuming People wont want to return to the office. I can't wait to get back to the office! What are your thoughts?
My Favourite Blogs
Some of my most popular articles I wrote during this time were How to not lose your Sh*t and 6 Ways to start off your week brilliantly. One of the executives I coach was rather jealous that I could use the word sh*t as we both agreed we were seeing the best and worst of others during this time. It is critical that we watch our choices and actions during this time and not to let our fears and the panic define us. Let me know your thoughts on the below.
Leadership and World News and Insights
Three reasons why Jacinda Ardern's coronavirus response has been a masterclass in crisis leadership
Imagine, if you can, what it's like to make decisions on which the lives of tens of thousands of other people depend. If you get things wrong, or delay deciding, they die.
Your decisions affect the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people, resulting in huge economic disruption, mass layoffs and business closures. Imagine you must act quickly, without having complete certainty your decisions will achieve what you hope.

These awards have been a dream of mine for years. These awards are around creating a kind and courageous leadership movement. There are leaders and businesses out there who espouse this leadership and we need to celebrate and showcase them.
