Weekly Kristieism: The ??that cost the perfect hire her offer letter

I thought I had found the perfect hire for an Account Executive role at a mid-sized B2B SaaS company, Charlotte.

The HR Manager, Sarah, gave her a 10 out of 10. I loved her. It had been a phenomenal interviewing experience.

Until...

Sarah called to ask, “Have you seen Charlotte’s LinkedIn?”

I had, but clearly, I needed to take? a second look, I noticed she was recently hired and was currently employed at another company. She had not mentioned this during the entire interview process.

But everyone gets a chance in my book. So I reached out to her.

She explained that she wasn’t happy in her current role and it was an “oversight” on her part.

This didn’t sit well with me.

I let Charlotte go from the hiring process because her omission didn’t align with the value system of my client or any other client I work with.

The #Kristieism: Decisions are free; consequences are not.

Integrity above all else.?

You will face numerous moments in your career that may feel daunting, but if you lean into doing the right thing, you’ll be rewarded every time.. AND it will likely take you further than any sales skill you could develop.

HI~ I have a question! If you had seen on her resume that she had recently started a position, would she have been called for an interview?
