Did you know that the cost of electric vehicle (EV) lithium-ion batteries ?? declined 90% in the last 15 years because of battery technology and manufacturing improvements? ?? EERE’s Vehicle Technologies Office is offering $43 million for projects that take those improvements one step further! Turn in your concept paper by September 9 ?? and submit your full application by October 30 to help drive innovations in low-cost EV battery manufacturing, improve battery safety, and strengthen our domestic EV supply chain.
Are you ready to rock DOE’s 2024 Geothermal Collegiate Competition (GCC)? ?? This year, challengers will develop real-world, sustainable geothermal solutions, work directly with communities, and gain experience in the renewable energy industry! ?? The General Services Administration’s (GSA’s) Green Proving Ground (GPG) program is requesting information on energy efficiency and decarbonization in commercial buildings. ?? In collaboration with EERE’s Building Technologies Office, GSA’s goal is to contribute to a more efficient electric infrastructure. ?? What’s New in Renewable Energy? ??
As we incorporate more renewable energy (like solar and wind energy) onto the electric grid, hydropower will be an important part of the reliability and stability of our energy supply chain. ?? DOE released a report that suggests actionable recommendations to address five domestic hydropower supply chain gaps. ??
