The Weekly ?? HUBdate ??
Guess who's back after a week-long break and ready to take on the internet?
Man, when I say the past two weeks have been hectic, I mean HECTIC. So much happened and there's so much to tell you.
Let's get into it, keep reading!
Look What's Trending???
?? Say cheese!: Meta's new AI model that can spot stuff in pics.
?? Is India's having a global moment rn?
?? The influenced influencer culture is here
Meta's AI sees! ???
Meta , the social media giant formerly known as Facebook, just unveiled its latest AI technology that can identify items within images.
The Facebook owner says its Segment Analysis Model (SAM) can cut out any object from images or videos by simply clicking or writing prompts, even in cases where it had not encountered those items during training. ??
So no more wondering what that weird fruit-looking thing or person in the background is, I guess.
Our view:
Technology is going to align with our needs and AI seems like the obvious breeding ground for just that.
This comes in after Meta has hinted (repeatedly, may I add) at incorporating generative AI, like ChatGPT , into their upcoming features. Unlike other types of AI that categorise or identify data, generative AI creates brand new content. ???? ??
So, will all this tech and unique features be ?the? thing that set Meta apart in the long run? Tell us what you think.
April-led to Meet You ?
Whew, April has already been a busy month for India. First there was India's first 迪奥 show at the Gateway of India and then was the NMACC launch also in Mumbai.
While all this sounds nice and fancy, it's about a bit more than that. The Indian luxury market has been blowing up, even though major economies in the world are witnessing recessionary trends. Yeah, by a whole 7%! Go figure

And away from that with NMACC, of course, we saw the other sort of luxury. People from all over came in and the paparazzi launched a thousand memes.
All in all, if you're on the internet almost anywhere in the world right now, chances are you've seen Indian content.
Does that mean we're having ? a moment? ?
Guess Who's Finally "Influenced"? ??
Listen up, folks! You won't believe what your boss is up to now.
Apparently, some companies are now training their employees to become influencers! Yes, you heard that right.
After years of discouraging workers from posting about work on social media, some bosses are now seeing the light and want their employees to use social media to promote the company.
It's not just about sharing a few posts here and there either. These companies want their employees to be full-blown influencers with thousands of followers, influencing trends, and shaping public opinion.
Of course, this isn't a completely new concept. Influencer marketing has been around for a while now, but it's interesting to see companies taking a more proactive approach by training their own employees to become influencers. Who knows, you might even get some free swag and perks along the way.
Our view:
The future of work is looking...more authentic, maybe? If you're already living out loud on social media, why should you not make the most of it at work, too?
By training, employees to become influencers, companies are not only creating a more authentic way to promote their products, but they're also investing in the future of your brand.
And maybe that's a good thing, no?
