Three weeks ago I opened up the LSPcommunity.com to new members and as part of the ongoing project I'm going to share weekly highlights of what we've been talking about in the LEGO Serious Play world.
Here are just four of the many topics we're discussing at the moment:
1. LSP Spark Event
Each month I like to have a video call event that anyone can join. This last week it was LSP Spark - a one hour show and tell where everyone shares something interesting and it's connection to LSP.
We only had a small number attend, but such interesting ideas bounced around. From the converge / diverge model of creativity and how it maps to LSP, to psychological safety in a session, to positive psychology, Ikigai and some hard nosed capitalism from me: sharing a client proposal I just sent off.
If creativity is about diverse stimuli then these sessions provided in bucket loads! Such generosity from those attended.
2. Ikigai
Speaking of Ikigai, there's been an ongoing 6 month conversation around this idea in the community. How to combine Ikigai and LSP. LEGO Serious Play combines so well with other frameworks and the concept of Ikigai seems a natural fit.
Using LSP to drive this type of discussion on purpose or reason for being is really powerful. I even did a "solo" Ikigai LSP build on my own reason for being. I was pretty clear on my purpose beforehand, but it did bring out some subtleties and a new lens to view it from.
It's great to this this wonderful combination being used around the world.
3. The Business of LSP
We resurrected an earlier discussion on the business of doing LSP sessions. It's not a topic that everyone needs to worry about as some LSP facilitators work internally within a company or an educational setting. But it was nice to share ideas around serving clients and running a business that has LSP as one of it's tools / services.
Lots of interesting metaphors emerged from achieving a sense of "enoughness" to the Infinite Game to focusing on the very next interaction with a client.
4. LSP Events
We also starting discussing the fantastic online LSP events coming up in late September and October:
- LSP Connect (https://www.lspconnect.events/)
- The LSP Conference with Inthrface (https://inthrface.com/en/lego-serious-play/lego-serious-play-conference-advanced-training/conference/)
It's nice to see the open LSP community putting on some quality events with lots of learning to be had. A nice mix of speakers and getting to do LEGO Serious Play.

I truly never know what's going to pop up each week. But it's always a great conversation.
