Devices | DJI Flip review: a new breed of beginner drone

The DJI Flip is a beginner-friendly drone that combines features from both selfie and traditional camera drones. Its unique folding design includes built-in propeller guards, enhancing safety during flight. The Flip captures 12MP photos and 4K videos at up to 60fps, with options for both standard and D-Log M profiles.

The ability to capture photos and videos in both beginner-friendly and more advanced formats is welcome, while the price of the Flip is competitive.

While its image quality is suitable for beginners, it doesn't match higher-end models like the DJI Mini 4 Pro. The Flip offers multiple flight control options and is priced competitively, making it an appealing choice for new drone users. However, its performance in windy conditions is limited, and it lacks the agility of more advanced drones.

Key highlights:

  • It captures 12MP photos and 4K videos at up to 60fps, with options for standard and D-Log M profiles.
  • While competitively priced, it lacks the agility of more advanced drones and performs less effectively in windy conditions.
