KAF Digital Bank has received approval from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Ministry of Finance to operate as a digital bank in Malaysia, beginning on 20 December 2024. Led by KAF Investment Bank in partnership with Carsome, MoneyMatch, Jirnexu, and StoreHub, the consortium will launch with an alpha testing phase before expanding to a beta phase. The bank aims to provide innovative, Shariah-compliant financial products and services. Established in 1975, KAF Investment Bank is a prominent financial services group in Malaysia. KAF joins other digital banks like GXBank, Boost Bank, and AEON Bank in reshaping Malaysia's financial landscape.

The Finance Ministry has approved a digital banking license for YTL Digital Bank Bhd, a joint venture between YTL Digital Capital Sdn Bhd and Sea Ltd. Operating as Ryt Bank, the next-generation digital bank began operations on 20 December 2024, with a phased public rollout planned. Backed by artificial intelligence (AI), Ryt Bank promises a seamless and inclusive banking experience, offering personalised financial insights, advanced savings strategies, and 24/7 assistance through its Ryt AI platform. Ryt Bank aims to redefine banking in Malaysia by empowering local talent and leveraging AI to deliver meaningful, customer-centric financial services.

Singapore Supports Malaysia’s Role in Advancing ASEAN’s Sustainability and Digital Economy in 2025

Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, expressed hope that Malaysia will prioritise advancing ASEAN’s sustainability agenda during its 2025 Chairmanship.
