Fast-food chain McDonald’s plans to create 1,000 jobs in Ireland over the next four years as part of a €40m expansion plan. A report published by the fast-food chain says it contributed over €414m in gross value to Irish economy last year.

?? Social media platforms ‘should have to verify ads’, says banking federation

There should be a requirement on social media platforms to verify ads for financial products before posting them online, as a way of combatting fraud, according to Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI).

? Aer Lingus workers being asked to take unpaid leave in shake-up of Dublin Airport ground operations

The document does not refer to job cuts but unpaid leave was currently being offered to the airline’s workers at Dublin Airport for the period between January and March due to what a source described as “a temporary surplus of ground-handling staff during that period”.
