Weekly cyber is taking time off ! What about you ?

You may have (not) noticed but the weekly cyber (me) is taking some time off !

We all saw the usual, Twitter user database leaked, linux kernel got dramatic CVE...the usual.

But we need to rest too, and also, live, have fun and enjoy stuff ! So this is totally out of topic !

I was wondering what are you doing to rest ? or disconnect ?

On my end it's ATV, and I don't mean buying an expensive toy, and go crazy on it (while it's fun for some if you and it's fine ! Some even like mudding ! :P ).

A grizzly 660, not much electronic, no cyber :)

I often watch youtube videos about ATV, and other mechanical stuff, even if I'm like 101 level in it. So I started to do some ATV videos myself, and I'm telling you, I'm really bad :P

It's quite fun to do something we are not used to. I love ATV, old ones, learning, fixing, although I don't like multiple long hours rides, I love to run around the block once a day. That's my way to escape the craziness of work and trying to remove a bit of stress.

So I made some videos, and you'll see, very, very poor quality :) but that's the fun part of it, exploring. We have computer, powerful and all, so using them to explore and discover is cool.

We had a bit of snow, unlike tons of you, people, who got a lot, we only got a few inches here, but good enough for a white Xmas.

And I have some seriously poor video skills :D

So, what do YOU do, as disconnection time, fun stuff ?

In the meantime, wishing all great time, resting, and enjoying ! Please, let me know in the comments what is your go to disconnection activity ? What allows you to escape the craziness of work and all ?

Wishing you all happy holidays !

Looks like fun.... Might remind others to never post when they are "on vacation" and junior people are "on the watch". Goes with the old adage "loose lips sink ships". Facebook, or other post vacation is ok but not if you always go the same places around the same time. The "watchers" will be looking, listening, doing basic level investigations to who does what in the orgs they want to "visit" while you are away. Also, if one does not say where they are but the pictures in back ground offer much to gather input. A plus to a connected world? You can access so much remotely. Get warnings are issues or potentials are arising. If they know signal in your area is not so good? "gotcha" If what you work on is so much tied to critical infrastructure or to what is playing in the market place? They will dig & watch much more, possibly even site visits. Site visit by a local hired to do some "just stop by" and given checklist of questions to answer. A nice spot pay to paypal or other service? Done. Games can get interesting for very little money. Even by a few Gov folks who do "spot hires" under a different name to save much from "sending one of their own". No need when run as a "survey". And the games go on and on

Wishing you and family a heathly and happy New Year. ??????
