Reclaims $4.7 Million Following Security Breach

Decentralized exchange KyberSwap has successfully recovered $4.67 million of the $47 million lost in a recent hacking incident. The funds were drained from its concentrated liquidity pools, predominantly affecting the Polygon and Avalanche networks. This recovery was achieved through negotiations with front-running bot operators who extracted about $5.7 million during the hack. These operators agreed to return 90% of the funds, keeping a 10% bounty for themselves. Meanwhile, negotiations with the main hacker, who targeted KyberSwap's Elastic pools across various blockchains and exploited a vulnerability in the liquidity pools, have not shown significant progress. ?? Personal Highlights of this Week

This week marks the one-year anniversary of ChatGPT, a period characterized by remarkable advancements in AI. However, recent concerns about security vulnerabilities in ChatGPT are making waves, exposing training data and sensitive information through simple prompting techniques. This situation underscores the importance of exercising caution when interacting with Large Language Models (LLMs) to prevent the exposure of sensitive data or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). At the Swiss Data Science Center hackathon, my teammates Angelos Selviaridis , Ludovic Pourrat , and I sought to address this challenge head-on by developing a privacy layer to protect PII and sensitive data in LLM interactions. This effort is becoming increasingly important as the use of LLMs grows. The event, a melting pot of academia, private and public sectors, provided an enriching platform for collaboration and learning. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Swiss Data Science Center for organizing this valuable event.
