Everything Apple Announced at WWDC 2022: New MacBooks, iOS 16, and More

The conference kicked off on Monday with a keynote address, and the company used the stage to announce a bunch of new software updates and the stray hunks of hardware.?Apple brings many welcome AR improvements with ARKit 6 such as the 4K recording, the image and video capture improvements within the AR Session, the Instant AR session init on LIDAR devices and simultaneous front and back cameras with AR. Apple unlocks room-scanning powers for devs

At the WWDC 2022 event, the company also revealed?RoomPlan , an augmented reality tool powered by Apple’s ARKit, that will let businesses use LiDAR inside their own apps. Aimed firmly at professionals in the real estate, hospitality, architecture, and interior design industries, Apple says RoomPlan will “help your app quickly create simplified parametric 3D scans of a room” to streamline conceptual planning.?(TechRadar )

TikTok launches custom avatars to rival Snapchat’s Bitmoji and Apple’s Memoji

To empower continued creative expression, TikTok is introducing Avatars - another way for people to?showcase?their?individuality?on the popular social media platform. Users can now choose from an array of hairstyles, accessories, piercings and makeup, to create a TikTok Avatar that reflects your personal look and?style. (The Verge )

The first US Super Nintendo World is set to open in ‘early’ 2023 with a Mario Kart AR ride

Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood will include the ‘signature ride’ we tried at the Japan location. The augmented reality on rails ride is already a highlight of the experience at Super Nintendo World in Japan,?offering an interactive experience where riders in four-seat Mario Kart vehicles can steer to collect coins and also throw shells to defeat Team Bowser, which also allows for different outcomes to the ride. Balmain seeks ‘Omnichannel’ immersion for fashionistas with help of MINTNFT

The French ultra-luxury fashion house is creating the Non-Fungible Thread, an NFT-backed ecosystem. MINTNFT is attempting to establish the storied French fashion house as a leader in what he claims is the next age of NFTs and Web3 business: one that's less focused on NFT drops and massive swings in speculative trading, and more concerned with immersive experiences and long-term relationships with customers. Paramedic Training VR Nearly Doubles Students' Understanding of Teamwork in Medicine

Jolly Good who provides Media services using cutting-edge technologies such as VR and AI, announced that the educational effect of VR was confirmed as the result of the demonstration test conducted for 663 students at 14 vocational schools throughout?Japan. The test was conducted using VR teaching materials on the flow of initial treatment from the emergency scene to the hospital scene which paramedics face in the actual situations. (PR Newswire )
