In technology, there are decades where nothing happens. And then there are weeks where decades happen. In the last few months, technology seems to be moving at warp speed. To make some sense out of this, I pick three to five stories every week which are the most significant of all.
So here is the Weekend Warp:
Perhaps the biggest news this week was 微软 announcing its Generative AI powered CoPilot. I truly believe that this unleashes the real power of AI and Generative AI, and is going to change work forever. Again. Worth watching this Satya Nadella Video.
Even as OpenAI extended its ChatGPT 'cutoff date' to January 2022. However the blowback from artists and creators on OpenAI and others using their content continues unabated. As of this week, 487 organisations across the world have instructed OpenAI's GPTBot to stop scanning and scraping their websites. This includes big names like 纽约时报 , ESPN , The Economist and others.
Closer home, the famous Bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor, got the Delhi High Court to rule that GenAI could not use his distinctive voice and words!
This does not seem to be deterring giants like 印孚瑟斯 , which has decided to train fifty thousand employees on 英伟达 ’s AI stack through a dedicated centre of excellence (CoE).
The space is certainly heating up….at warp speed.

1 年Thanks Jaspreet Bindra for this edition. The initial euphoria is settling down as far as the Enterprise Gen AI is concerned. So many ways and so many providers have started white labelling it is really confusing and often prone to misaligned with the data security principles and priorities. While Microsoft is talking co-pilot and Azure AI asking us to use the internal structured and unstructured data in a particular way. While SAP is coming up all its innovation apparently on RISE to reincarnate their future life! Llama 2 from Meta, Mosaic AI from Databricks are also providing some useful alternatives. Key question is how many, where, which ones and also #EnterpriseArchitecture may be strained due to problem of plenty which eventually may lead to writing off some initial investments in medium term. Within that, I am trying to conceptualize my own Enterprise GPT Engine!!
