1. How to Create a Standout Salesforce Resume [+Free Templates]

?We’re living in tough times right now.?Companies are issuing layoffs and many people are returning to the job search market. There are many things you can do to?land your dream role,?and having a standout resume should be your #1 priority.

?Job seekers: beware the ATS! Due to the large volume of applications companies receive, they often use an applicant tracking system to scan and filter resumes. That’s why, if you’re looking for a Salesforce job, there are certain keywords and items you must include to pass this round:

  • Header: Include your name and current job title. Be sure to include these details in the body of your resume as it will be recognized by the ATS.
  • Contact details: Make it easy for recruiters to find you by providing your email, phone number, location, and social links.
  • Certifications: Brag about your Salesforce certifications and demonstrate your willingness to broaden your knowledge.
  • Awards: Show that you’re an outstanding candidate with a record of recognition.
  • Skills: Only include relevant skills to the role you’re applying for.
  • Hobbies and interests: Hobbies are a great way to showcase transferable skills and a commitment to personal growth.
  • Personal statement/professional summary: A short, snappy paragraph detailing your relevant experience and skills.
  • Professional development: Include this section for any relevant Salesforce-specific professional development.
  • Work experience: Specify your roles (in chronological order) and quantify your achievements.
  • Education: Include your most recent studies – if you’re a recent grad, place this section above your work experience.

We’ve also put together a collection of Salesforce resume templates to help you get started. Check them out?here.

3. Ways to Enable Salesforce Dark Mode?

Ever since Apple rolled out Dark Mode in 2019, companies have been racing to adapt the feature to their own products.?It’s a loved-by-all adaptive screen display that offers many benefits, from saving battery on your mobile to reducing eye strain.

Although Salesforce disabled Dark Mode in their Lightning extension, Andrew has found other ways to activate it in your org:

  • Salesforce Dark Theme Beta: Developed by salesforceblue.com, the Chrome extension supports many, including Trailhead and Developer docs.
  • Super Dark Mode: Another Google extension developed by HiSoft, but this time it goes beyond Salesforce and allows you to apply dark mode to all pages in your browser.

Remember, installing Dark Mode on any of your devices can help to reduce your exposure to blue light. Did you know that blue light tricks our minds into thinking it’s daytime? In short, it stimulates our bodies to overproduce serotonin and dopamine, the neurotransmitters that can affect mood and sleep. [Read More]

4. Slack Fatigue? How to Bring Control to Rapid Collaboration

You’ve heard of Slack, right??In case you haven’t, this asynchronous workplace messaging system (acquired by Salesforce in 2020) is used by companies worldwide (including here at SFBen) and helps to mold the way organizations socialize and collaborate. However, easy access to your team and channels can easily cross the line beyond accepted “slack etiquette,” taking you from productivity to fatigue.

Slack is based on the 20/80 rule: technology (20%) and governance (80%). Getting the tech to run smoothly is the easy part, which we call Slack “hygiene”. As you know, user and auto-created channels are a big part of Slack, but sometimes they outlive their purpose. Here’s what you can do to better manage them: merge or archive.

Now, introducing Slack Admins – each company should have a person dedicated to the management of the program. From user permissions to training newcomers to designing and creating workflows, these admins make sure Slack is being used to its full potential.

So, on to governance. It’s important to respect others’ time and also write with clarity. We recommend you send newcomers a “how we collaborate” message on their first day. It’s important everybody defines their priorities within Slack to prevent a toxic work environment.

If you’re an admin and feel like your org’s Slack has become a little out of control, you have a group of customer success managers at your disposal (with the Enterprise plan). Let this group clean up your org and design a more efficient experience. [Read More]

6. Getting Started with OmniStudio

?Are there any non-developers out there who don’t know what OmniStudio is??If you fall into this category and you are also a Salesforce Admin, this could be for you.

OmniStudio is a suite filled with engagement tools that simplify the creation of complex experiences in Salesforce, allowing designers to create a guided brand experience (similar to Flow) with the same UI and styling flexibility of Lightning Web Components.

?The suite is built on four parts:

  1. FlexCards: At-a-glance information and access to tasks for your customers.
  2. OmniScripts: Guided UX for complex business processes.
  3. DataRaptors: A declarative mapping tool to allow you to read, edit, and transform information in Salesforce.
  4. Integration Procedures: Read or edit data from Salesforce or using external applications.

Once you’re familiar with the terms above, you’ll be ready to?sign up for your very own OmniStudio-enabled developer org?(180 day expiration!) and you can begin creating a new OmniScript – don’t forget to add fields to it! After the fields are set, add a DataRaptor to pull data into the OmniScript.

Setting up the DataRaptor is fairly simple, and once this is done, you’ll be able to pull, map, and test the extracted data.?[Read More]
