“There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.” -Aldous Huxley
From time to time, I like to introspect – about all that has happened lately, how I could have looked at things in a different way, in a bid to improve consistently. This time around as I began doing it, I jotted down the equation of the human mind, which makes introspection possible.
Our sensory organs convert information and thoughts into perceptions, and perceptions into chemical processes that eventually become the basis of driving every being. Our perceptions create a unique and constant engagement with every individual within the society.
They get reflected in our thoughts, behaviour, actions and reactions that create a cyclical process, forming the psychology of an individual. As the individual psychology connects with the chemistry within, the perception of an individual continues to evolve along with his/her interaction with other members of the society. All that one can control in this process is the most important aspect - the perception!
A significant notion to keep in mind here is working towards a positive perception. A positive perception for me is a frame of mind that can help anyone get through the toughest of situations and stay calm to enjoy the smaller things in life.
The start of a new financial year on April 1st, 2019 came as an opportunity to introspect and take a fresh stance, for me individually as well as for all of us within the organization. Each event had a potential of igniting a significant thought process change, because that’s how I decided to approach it. For me, it was all about revisiting the experiences with an open mind, so I could perceive how I could have dealt with each situation in different ways. The year gone by had a lot to offer - challenges because of a rapidly changing environment and, of course, opportunities of ever-expanding aspirations of consumers and enterprises.
And here’s my take away from the week gone by - optimism and fresh energy act as binding forces to bring people together when entering a new phase, along with the ability to reflect on our perceptions every once in a while. At Panasonic India, we have named it “Re-Group Re-Ignite” as we collaborate to create positive momentum for the next 10 years in India. Proactive action is most likely the outcome when our minds and thoughts are full of optimism. Here lies a future shining clear and bright!

5 年Totally agree. 'Reflection' most certainly qualifies to be a skill in today's time and the ability to do it is often governed by the fact whether we are mindful of our presence/ work / contribution to the society or not. Mindfullness is a state of mind which one can Foster over time with constant checks and positive stimuli which unfortunately often gets subjected to several challenges and negative energies also. Hence, one can combat this complexity by building character based on pure philosophy and strong 'Faith' - 'Belief system', which certainly helps recuperate one's energy level and allows one to sustain a positive perception day in and day out.
