Weekend Fun Tip: Movies in the Park, 49th Annual Ford River Race, Texas Wine Showcase
Can you believe it’s already August? Here are a couple events going on this first August weekend.
Tonight, The City of Leon Valley is holding, Movies in the Park. They are showing a movie my family and I have wanted to see, A Dogs Purpose. The movie is free and it starts tonight at 8:30 p.m. in Raymond Rimkus Park. Details can be found at www.sacurrent.com/sanantonio/city-of-leon-valley-movies-in-the-park-a-dogs-purpose/Event?oid=4060408
On Saturday morning, the San Antonio River Walk is holding their 49th Annual Ford River Race. Come down to the Riverwalk and watch as teams race down the River in canoes. It is too late to register to be in the race but, it’s fun to watch and it gives us a good reason to go to the Riverwalk and play tourist! After the race, I suggest you head to Boudros Texas Bistro on the River Walk for lunch and try their Prickly Pear Margarita and Table side Guacamole. Information about the race can be found at www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/events/ford-river-race. For information on Boudros and their Menu go to https://boudros.com/
On Saturday evening, Santa Maria Social House on the St. Mary's Strip is having there Texas Wine Showcase from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. They will not only have Texas wine but raffles, door prizes and live music. Presale tickets are $15.00 and $20.00 at the door. Details about this event can be found at www.yelp.com/events/san-antonio-texas-wine-showcase
