We're excited to share our brand new #newsletter which highlights some of the work that we have been up to at Purple Shoots each week!
We'll be releasing this every Friday, so make sure to subscribe so you don't miss out!
So...what have we been up to this week?
- We have enjoyed a strong and positive?#relationship?with
James Ryan
and?Charlotte Price?at?Development Bank of Wales?meaning we can support clients that could not receive funding from them.?One such client is Abby Browne who we were able to support with a small loan to help her rent a larger studio space and grow her fantastic art business! Check out her website here!?https://abbybrowne.art/
- We received an unexpected but greatly appreciated?#investment?from a?#socialinvestor. Under the Community Investment Tax Relief scheme (https://lnkd.in/ecBR44h9) investors can realise a substantial tax relief while supporting development and growth in local?#communities! The investment was much appreciated and will continue to support our growth into England, but we would love to welcome more investors! Get in touch to find out more!
- We have reached an agreement with?Church Action on Poverty?to start establishing Self-Reliant Groups around the UK in partnership with one another! We absolutely love working with likeminded organisations like Church Action on Poverty and can't wait to further establish real impact with one another!
- We've enjoyed some very positive discussions with our friends?Business Enterprise Fund?and?BCRS Business Loans?around expanding our offerings together to offer more finance to individuals and communities who find themselves and their business dreams held back by their circumstances.
- 27 businesses?and?social enterprises, attended our second of four pilot networking events in the Valleys.?Jointly delivered with a host of cross sector partners, it was a fantastic evening of positive networking and capacity building.
- The Community Activities Team?(CAT)?SRG have a stall at the easter extravaganza at St Barnabas in West Cheltenham on Good Friday. CAT's newest member,?Tetiana Nikuriuk, will be exhibiting her amazing Ukrainian wool pictures at this event & we will then be bringing them to our shop to have them for sale!
- We were able to meet as an (almost!) full team meeting at our offices in Pontypridd! It was a great day of?#teambuilding?and fun, utilising?Belbin Team Roles (UK - Head Office)?to help each other see the value we bring, as well as looking at the?Inner Development Goals?for our future framework for capturing the impact that we deliver.
