Duplex Meets WestWorld

Did you catch the latest episode of WestWorld? (Spoiler alert) There sits an DNA infused humanoid at the pinnacle of singularity that has embedded memories from its human past and is given a Turing test with a person it remembers from memory to see if it can overcome the "Cognitive plateau".

The cognitive plateau is explained as the deep AI programming that malfunctions or short-circuits when facing reality beyond what it's programmed to experience. Although the singularity attempt failed it was still ground breaking. The entire show is ground breaking and very deeply intertwined with foundations of AI and Singularity.

Segway into the now, Google Duplex brings you an intuitive AI powered assistant that sounds like a potential scene out of WestWorld! BOOM! The way the robot gives "Ums" and the "Uhs" along with the inflections is surreal! I haven't been as excited about AI in a long time. I can't wait to see what deep learning has in store for our progress towards singularity.

What does this mean for our future?
