Tech tools in focus this week

The pace of change in our world is faster than every today and will accelerate over the next years.

According to McKinsey & Company we will experience more technological progress in the coming decade than we did in the preceding 100 years put together. (Source: McKinsey & Company, Oct 12, 2021)

Based?on?a?forecast?for the period up to?2025, global data creation is projected to grow to more than 180 zettabytes. (Source: Statista, Sep 8, 2022)

Thus, the demand for technology supporting business processes and handling data volume is increasing as well.

Each week our newsletter focusses on different technology tools.

This week it deals with integration platforms as a service.

There are a lot of?tools available on the market. But which one is the best?

Based upon our 20+ years’ experience in Business and IT Transformation projects, we recommend the following tools.

CRM

It does not matter which of the following tools or platforms you choose.

???Microsoft Dynamics

???Salesforce

???SAP CX

???Pre-Sales component of SAP S/4 HANA

I clearly have a personal preference but speaking in car metaphors: It does not matter whether you buy an Audi, BMW or Mercedes. They are all good cars.

It depends on your business requirements, IT system landscape, cost, and available, qualified integrator team which fits best for you.

All above-mentioned tools and platforms are well-established, have fantastic capabilities, but different focuses.?

The important thing is that you stick to ONE tool or platform within your organization. It clearly does not make sense having different CRMs side by side, different teams in IT supporting it and so on and so on.

Apart from the fact that I once advised?a company that was running Microsoft Dynamics Sales, Salesforce, and SAP CX site-by-site, there was another company which put Salesforce in front of SAP to have a nicer User Interface. This is not recommended.

If you choose Microsoft, stick with Microsoft.

If you choose Salesforce, stick with Salesforce.

If you choose SAP, stick with SAP.

Adapt it to your needs, make it happen, scale the business.

It is always the people, not the IT system who makes the difference.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

defined here as SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND PLANT MAINTENANCE

???SAP S/4 HANA Asset Management

???SAP Asset Performance Management (#APM ) balancing performance, cost, and risk, reducing maintenance spend and increasing asset availability.

???SAP Field Service Management (#FSM ) digitizing field service and optimize operations while reducing environmental impact, supporting sustainability efforts through efficient service delivery. Moreover, resolving customer issues faster with comprehensive, proactive, AI-enabled field service management software.

???SAP Service und Asset Manager (#SSAM ) prolonging the life of your assets, improve customer service, and boost asset reliability and performance with mobile access. Furthermore, transform asset and field service management on a mobile experience.

What is my summary?

This is clearly best-of-breed, but it is expensive. Thus, I can only recommend it to corporateswhose IT strategy is SAP.

???? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ????????????????????? Do you look for best practice approaches, methods, and tools? Send me a direct message (DM) ([email protected]) to discuss the options.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
