Denmark Acquires KONGSBERG’s Naval Strike Missile

Our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a contract to deliver the Naval Strike Missile and associated installed equipment to Denmark in a transaction valued at NOK 2.1 billion.

“This government-to-government agreement with Norway is a prime example of an efficient way to procure equipment quickly and smartly. The missiles are a state-of-the-art replacement for the Harpoons that have served their purpose in Ukraine, and with this acquisition, we are significantly strengthening the Royal Danish Navy's combat capability in a key area,” said Lieutenant General Per Pugholm Olsen, Commanding General of the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation.

First-Ever Microsatellite Owned and Operated by KONGSBERG Set for Launch

ARVAKER I is the 1st of 3 initial microsatellites in the N3X constellation. Built by our subsidiary Kongsberg NanoAvionics, the satellite will strengthen global maritime security, something recent events have shown to be crucially important.

The satellite will enable rapid identification of vessels engaged in environmental crime, illegal fishing, smuggling, and other unlawful activities while supporting the search and rescue of ships in distress.

It will also provide high-frequency, low-latency maritime surveillance of the High North for the Norwegian government while also offering excess data collection capability outside Norwegian Areas of Interest, available for international users.

Through a combination in-house capability in our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and subsidiaries, we cover the full value chain to offer the next generation satellite services.

Key Player in Hybrid Conversion of MF Hamlet

Our business area Kongsberg Maritime has secured its latest upgrade project to convert the double ended car ferry MF Hamlet to emission-free battery powered operation.

The ferry, operated by ?resundlinjen, on the route between Helsing?r, Denmark, and Helsingborg, Sweden, will see a major upgrade including installation of large battery packs and new permanent magnet motors for the azimuth thrusters.

Successfully Upgraded ATC Remote Towers System

Our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and partner Indra Navia AS have successfully upgraded Avinor’s Remote Towers system to a new software version, paving the way for the final three towers in Phase 1 to transition to the Remote Towers Centre (RTC) in Bod? this March.

It also marks a significant step toward multiple operations, where one AFIS officer can handle up to three towers at once.

Supply Design and Equipment Package for New Walk-to-Work Offshore Service Vessel

Our business area Kongsberg Maritime has been selected by ST Engineering Marine Ltd. in Singapore to supply the design and integrated equipment package for a new walk-to-work offshore service vessel (OSV).

The 97-meter vessel, designed for oil and gas operations, will accommodate 106 people and feature a motion-compensated gangway for safe personnel transfer. With an endurance of up to nine weeks at sea, it sets a new standard in offshore service.

Continuing to Support Ukraine

As part of the efforts to support the country in the war against Russia, KONGSBERG is working to set up the production of missiles for NASAMS in Ukraine.

“We are in close discussion with industry in Ukraine to establish a joint venture. We are looking to set up missile production for NASAMS in the country, based on Ukrainian technology. We are talking about mass production of missiles inside the country’s borders,” said Eirik Lie, Executive Vice President KONGSBERG and President of business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace .

When the war is over, Ukraine can also become part of the supply chain providing missiles for air defence systems, he added.
