YouTubers Share Results of First Month on Shorts Monetization Program
YouTube launched its Shorts revenue share program last month, a tool that pools all of the revenue then redistributes around half of that to the top creators.
Creators have been sharing their insight - but it doesn’t look great.
YouTuber Zack King reported earnings of $2,918 in revenue, but amassed over 196 million views (less than $0.02 RPM). This is still better than TikTok’s creator fund, and Instagram’s Reels monetization?though.
Twitter Blue Continues to Raise Concerns After Fake Will Ferrel Account Fools BBC
A fake Will Ferrel account is poking holes in Elon Musk’s Twitter Blue paid verification plan.
The BBC had linked actor Will Ferrell to a post mocking Sunderland, the football team, fans. This was actually a fake account posing as the actor thanks to a paid-for blue checkmark.
Twitter Blue has been a big part of Elon’s plans for Twitter 2.0, but with no actual ID verification and seemingly allowing anyone to purchase a subscription, Twitter Blue seems to be falling short.

Instagram to Abandon Live Shopping
Instagram will be scaling back its livestream shopping functionality this month, following in Facebook’s footsteps after it removed the feature last year.
Livestream shopping is immensely popular in Asia, western consumers have been much slower to adopt a keen interest in this form of social commerce.
ChatGPT is Now Integrated into Snapchat
It was only a matter of time before the AI language model made its way onto social media.
Snapchat+ users can now access a ChatGPT integration. Subscribers will be able to recommend birthday gift ideas to their BFF, plan trips away, find new recipes or even write a haiku.
Given that the tech is still fresh, updates and developments are expected but by getting in early Snapchat has made its platform the place to be for ChatGPT.
