Each week, the marketing team at The Goat Agency pull together the latest news from the social space in a weekly social media news round-up. ??????

Don't Miss This Week's Headlines!

(1/5) Rule Breakers, This is for You! ????

YouTube is testing a new feature that lets you edit out violative elements from your videos, addressing Community Guidelines issues without losing your content or monetisation.

If your video faces age restrictions or removal, you can now revise the problematic parts in YouTube Studio. Once edited, YouTube’s policy team will review the changes and update their decision accordingly.

The update offers more options to stay within guidelines, appealing to creators who’ve struggled with unclear content removals and demonetisation.

(2/5) It's Giving Cutesy ??

Instagram has rolled out 38 new stickers for your Stories and Reels. From classic hearts to days of the week, these new additions are here to spice up your content as we wrap up the year.

The fan-favourite “Emoji Pong” game is back and better! Send an emoji to a friend in your DMs, tap it, and let the game begin. With a refined UI and more game options, it’s the perfect way to engage with friends.

While not groundbreaking, these new features add a touch of novelty and excitement, keeping Instagram an appealing platform for interactive and creative content amongst its young users.

(3/5) Twitch's Depreciating Strike Program ??

Say goodbye to permanent marks for minor mistakes!

Twitch is rolling out a new enforcement strategy where strikes for low-severity offenses will expire over time.

Starting next year, Twitch will provide users with more context when a violation occurs. Expect relevant chat messages or clips to explain why an enforcement action was taken, making it easier to understand and potentially appeal strikes.

Users can now reduce the severity of their strikes by taking educational courses and quizzes. Developed with the Anti-Defamation League and other experts, these courses cover topics like hateful conduct, sexual content, and gambling.

High-severity offenses, including child safety, terrorism, and hateful conduct, will still result in permanent strikes. Twitch’s new system aims to balance safety with fairness, allowing users to learn and grow from their mistakes.

(4/5) YouTube's 'Made On' Event ??

YouTube isn't playing around, as they unveil a range of new features at its ‘Made On’ Event '!

  1. AI-Powered Video Magic:?YouTube’s stepping up its game with Google’s Veo tool, allowing Shorts creators to generate 6-second clips and stunning backgrounds.
  2. Inspiration on Tap:?The “Inspiration” tab in YouTube Studio gets a boost with AI-powered video concept assistance. It’s like having a creative partner brainstorming alongside you, making content ideation a breeze.
  3. Building Communities:?YouTube’s officially launching “Communities,” a feature to foster deeper connections with your audience. Share updates, engage with fans, and get direct feedback to refine your content.
  4. Hype for Emerging Creators:?Introducing “Hype,” a program where fans can boost emerging channels by allocating “hype points.” This feature could propel smaller creators to stardom, thanks to fan support and leaderboard visibility.
  5. Global and Interactive Enhancements:?From auto-dubbing for multilingual reach to AI-enhanced reply suggestions and fun live-stream gifts, YouTube’s adding layers of interactivity and monetisation potential. Plus, the YouTube Shopping affiliate program is expanding to Indonesia, tapping into a vibrant market.
