What am I reading?
Animal Farm, by George Orwell
Every other year, I reread books from what I have labeled the 'I Trust Humans' book reading list. I am ending this year by starting with 'Animal Farm,' a classic allegorical novella by George Orwell. It tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Led by the pigs, the animals successfully overthrow the farmer and establish their own government. However, the pigs gradually become corrupt and oppressive, mirroring the behavior of the humans they once rebelled against.
In light of everything that is happening in the world, this seems apropos.
What am I listening to?
I don't know how I missed this group over the last 8 years or so, but I just discovered 'St. Paul and The Broken Bones' in the last two weeks and can't get enough of them. A funny story: for hours, I was just listening to the music without the visuals, but something told me to go to YouTube and check out some visuals. Needless to say, I would never have guessed that anyone in the band looked like they do! LOL
What am I watching?
The Wire-the entire series
"A man's got to have a code."-Omar
I am rewatching 'The Wire' and on Season 2. What's crazy is that I initially thought this was the worst season of the entire series, but on my 1064th watching, my opinion has now changed.
If you have been living under a rock for the last 20 years, here is a summary of the key points from Season 2.
Thats it for this week! Let me know what you are into right now.
