About Repped in Tech
Repped in Tech is a force in the world of tech-related media. We’re dedicated to nurturing diverse technical creators in areas such as live streaming, video production, podcasts, and technical writing. Distinct from traditional production companies, our primary role is empowering individual creators to express their talents and passions in the tech-focused media landscape and providing a platform to showcase said talents and passion by educating and supporting growth in these areas.
Our work is defined by three (3) specific pillars:
1?? Representation and Reputation Building:
This pillar is all about shining a spotlight on diverse tech talent, giving them the recognition they deserve. It ain’t just about filling seats; it’s about being known for what you bring to those seats — your unique experiences, your perspective, and your expertise. It’s significant because it changes the narrative. It tells the upcoming generation, “You belong here, and there’s a legacy of excellence that looks like you.”
2?? Influence Building:
This one’s about that clout. It’s not enough to just be in the room. We’ve got to have a say in what’s going down. By building influence, we’re talking about swaying opinion, shaping policy, and inspiring action that leads to more inclusive tech environments. The significance? Influence means you can advocate for real change — it’s the power to disrupt the status quo and make sure decisions benefit a broad spectrum of people.
3?? Technical Skills Building:
This pillar’s the muscle. It’s about equipping folks with the hardcore tech skills they need to excel — whether it’s coding, design, data science, or any other tech discipline. But it’s deeper than just learning to code; it’s about mastering these skills to innovate and create technology that serves everyone. The significance here? When traditionally excluded individuals have mad tech skills, they’re undeniable assets to any team, and they help build tech solutions that truly reflect our diverse world.
These three pillars are fundamental because they create a tech industry that’s just as complex, varied, and dynamic as the world we live in.
