A WEEK OF REFLECTION

A WEEK OF REFLECTION

This is a great week to take a moment and hit the pause button. Work will slow down and, for a couple of days at least, your inbox should be empty.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or maybe just celebrate a few days of solitude or time with friends, this is a week that allows us to breathe.

We have time for our minds to clear, some of our pressures to thaw, and the capacity to be open.

Each of us has something to be grateful for this week. You don’t have to look too far for something good, positive, and joyful.

If you zoom out to the broader world around us, here are a few things to be reminded of: Over the past 10 years or so, the world wide rate of poverty fell by half from 18.2% to 8.6%; global life expectancy increased by three years, and the incidence of Malaria in Africa declined by 60%. Closer to home, the U.S. unemployment rate is at a 50-year low, and violent crime is down 51% since 1993.

For many of us, this week is time for spiritual reflection.

Wayne Dyer says we’re not human beings having a spiritual experience but spiritual beings having a human experience. Whether you believe this or not, I hope you use this week to renew your body, mind, and spirit in whatever way that works for you.

Enjoy this week and have a wonderful holiday break.
